Zander and Korbin 1 month

I can't believe it Zander and Korbin are a month old. Man time flew.....I feel a little sad about it because they were in the NICU for 2 1/2 weeks of their live and I feel I missed out on that time and the fun we could of had at home with them. I love being a mom, I won't lie though it has been tough with twins. Having one I'm sure is hard enough, but with two you double the hardness. I go days without sleep, and times where I just cry, but I am very lucky. I have very 2 great boys. They sleep 3-4 hours at a time and hardly ever cry. I know I am very blessed to have them in my life. They have grown so much. They have gained a little more than a pound since coming home from the hospital. They are great eaters. It's a true statement when people say all they do is eat, sleep, and poop. Yes they do, do all of those, but they also stay awake and play for about an hour at a time. I'm glad to have the boys home and I love being a mom.

34 weeks and 5 days. LABOR DAY

After Travis and I went to bed we woke up about 9 and just talked and cuddled in bed. At about 10:45ish all the sudden I felt a gush of something downstairs. I went to the bathroom and my underwear was soaked. I just though oh that could just be another sign of being pregnant (yeah it was a sign all right it's calling your water breaking) I went back in to the room and told Travis that I thought my water broke. He bolted out of bed, while he was in a frantic panic I called my mom and sister to double check and see what they thought. Sure enough they both told me the same thing. We called American Fork hospital to see if they suggested we go there or to Utah Valley due to them being pre-mature and may need the NICU. Then my Dr called and said to just go to Utah Valley. We got to Utah Valley at about 11:15 that morning. They did some tests just to make sure and sure enough I was right and in labor. They put me back on all the monitors and IV's. They put me on pitocin for about 10 minutes but then didn't see anything change so they took me off (Dr's orders) Every time they checked me I was still the same and it was getting very frustrating because the contractions were so close together and painful. Finally after about 3 hours I had dialted to a 4-5 and then got an epidural. This part hurt worse than the labor contractions. It took the Dr about 45 minutes to get the dang thing in my back. He couldn't get it in the right spot because he said my anatomy was different and he had to go in from the side. After I got that I was feeling so much better, until I started throwing up. I was very sick through labor and threw up a lot. We started calling family and letting them know where I was and what was going on. We started taking guesses on what we thought what the kids would weigh and what time I'd have them. We all guessed fairly close together until we called my sister-in-law Lani and Tessa who both guessed around 2:00am the next day. So everyone started changing their times, but I kept mine. They doctor came in and broke my water for baby A because baby B was the one who's broke first. After he broke the water it still seemed like it took forever to get them here. Well 9:3o I had jumped from a 4 to a 9 then in 5 minutes I was at a 10. They just let me contract for a bit and just wanted to see if baby A would come down further. 10:00 I started pushed at 11:00 they wheeled me to the OR and at 11:11pm Zander J Vantassell was born at 11:15 his baby brother Korbin Curtis Vantassel was born. Zander weighed 4 lbs 8 oz and was 17 1/2 inches long and Korbin weighed 4 lbs even and 17 1/2 inches long. It was the best day of my life. They took them back to a room to clean them off. Travis was able to go back there and see them.I only got to see them for a minute because they had to take them to the NICU. They are the best thing that has ever happened to me and Travis.

32-34 weeks and 4 days

Okay so it's been awhile, but under my circumstances I think I have a pretty good reason for not updating. Here is why...... I started pre-mature labor around my 32nd week of pregnancy. I started to feel really bad back pain that slowly came into my uterus area, at first I thought it's just Braxton Hicks it's not big deal nothing to worry about (this was Friday before Thanksgiving.) Monday night Travis and I started to watch a movie. I couldn't get comfortable at all I was just in pain. After the movie I immediately went to bed, but by 1:00ish in the morning I was telling Trav I think we needed to go to the hospital something just didn't feel right. He jumped out of bed and got me to American Fork Hospital by 1:30am. They put me in a room to test the babies heartrates and my contractions the contractions were so strong they decided to admit me and observe me, by about 8:00 they were transporting me to Provo. That was so scary because all I could think was my babies are to small they can't come out now. They got me setting at Utah Valley and I was there Tuesday morning to Thanksgiving Thursday night. They put me on Moderate bed rest and but me on some pills to lessen the contractions and requested more NST and Ultra Sounds. Well a week later (33 weeks) I was back in the hospital for me observations my contractions just wouldn't stop. I was admitted to American Fork again for one night. At this point I was getting sick of hospitals and all the monitors all over my belly and the IV's in my hand. They finally decided they had it under control and sent me home. I was then put on strict bed rest. This was rough all day in bed and only could go to doctors appts, which at that point was 3-4 times a week. Friday December 10,2010 was me being 34 weeks and 4 days along I was thrilled that I was keeping that long. Travis and I went to bed and everything was fine.

Pregnancy

This pregnancy so far hasn't been the easiest. I have been sick pretty much the whole time. However, the throwing up is few and far between now which is nice, but those times that I do makes me curse pregnancy. My muscles are starting to pull from the babies growing and having Costal Contritis while pregnant isn't that fun, so with that and my muscles pulling makes things a little uncomfortable and sleeping has been less and less each night. The one thing I do get happy about is that I am 29 weeks pregnant and have only gained 7 pounds (hey that's pretty good for having twins) so really right now all my weight is babies. They are both 2 lbs and are healthy and strong which makes mama happy to hear. I am seeing my doctor every 2 weeks, and the specialist every month, but after Nov 16th I will be seeing the specialist once a week for Stress Tests. It is so crazy to me to think Travis and I will have 2 little boys in 7 weeks times. I can't say that I'm not a tad nervous and stressing out a little, but I want them out of me. :) Has amazing and miraculous as pregnancy is, I am not a huge fan of it. I want to smack the people that say how great they feel pregnant and never got sick or had any symptoms at all, but then I turn and become grateful that I had symptoms because I think you appreciate your kids more because you remember what you sacrificed to get them here. As you all know I am a terrible blogger and even worse with pictures. I will try and remember to get a belly picture soon.

So Much to Update On!

So Travis and I found out we were pregnant!!!! Our first initial thought was "OH S*#T, what are we going to do?" After it all sunk in we were going to be parents we got really excited and couldn't wait to be parents. June 29th we went into hear the babies heartbeat, and my doctor (who is amazing and part of the family) gave us an ultrasound. Well he ended us scheduling us another ultrasound at his newer office with an ultrasound technician. So the next day Travis and I headed over there in a hurry because we were quite worried. Well turns out we are not having one baby, but we are have TWINS!!!! Wow.....wow....wow was that a surprise. I kept saying to myself "take one back I don't won't one, take one back." Well after I had a panic attack and called all our family it hit us we have two and were even more excited then thinking we were only having one. Our due date is Jan 16, 2011, but with twins they take you at 37 weeks if you can make it even that far. We find out what we are having here in a few weeks and we can't wait.
We just moved into a new place and are thrilled to finally be living together again and starting our lives. We live in one of my grandpa's duplexes and it's just perfect for us. In a few years we will for sure need to upgrade due to adding two more to our family rather then just adding one. I hope you enjoy our news as much as Travis and I did. PS: I will post pictures of our place soon!!
